1927. Soviet Ukraine. The most outstanding Ukrainian writers live in comfortable apartments. All of them become participants in an experiment aimed at deriving a new type of Soviet writer with total control over the creative process.  Based on real event this is a story of the  “executed renaissance” of Ukrainian art and literature in the 1920’s, an introspection on the eternal theme of the relationship between authority and power, the potency of cultural genocide and the determination of a people to survive.
