Synopsis

Synopsis
When Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico, American news outlets kept the states informed about the recovery of the metropolitan areas but after a few months, Puerto Rico was no longer spoken about leaving many to believe the island has fully recovered. Maria Se Fue was created by going to all 78 municipalities, specifically las montañas y el campo (the mountains and the countryside), which were the most heavily affected areas.
This film is a compilation of Boricua interviews that serves as a platform for their story; of how they truly recovered and the effects that are still felt nearly two years after the storm.
