The I Will Tell International Film Festival marked its 20th anniversary in London with a week of stories that challenged, moved and inspired us. At our Closing Gala on 26 September, we celebrated the people behind the films and performances recognised in our 2026 awards.
The 2026 winners are:
- Best Feature Documentary: Jane Elliott Against the World, directed by Judd Ehrlich
- Best Narrative Feature: Truth & Treason, directed by Matt Whitaker
- Best Actor: Ewan Horrocks for Truth & Treason, directed by Matt Whitaker
- Best Actress: Naya Desir-Johnson for Sarah’s Oil, directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh
- Innovation Award: Blind Faith, directed by Claire Coaché and Lisle Turner
- Best Narrative Short: My Name Is Joy, directed by Alexandra Strunin
- Best Experimental: Disord3red — Corey Allen
- Best Short Documentary: A Man Like Sam, directed by Maurice Kirya
- Legacy Award: Fotosel, directed by Mücahid Baydas
- Horizon Award: No Limbs No Limits: The NickV Story, directed by Matthew Thayer
- Vanguard Award: Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, directed by Joshua Weigel
The Aurora Award recognises Toni Krok herself, whose story is told in Toni’s Marathon, directed by Giacomo Gex.
