A speech first delivered at Arlington Cemetary May 30, 1971

After the American Civil War, Frederick Douglass visited cemeteries throughout the country honoring the fallen color and white union soldiers with speeches. The two most famous of these speeches were “The Gettysburg Speech” in 1869 and “The Arlington Speech” in 1871.
