Some stories end when the credits roll. Others stay with us for years.
For two decades, the I Will Tell International Film Festival has brought together audiences, filmmakers and communities through powerful stories that inspire conversation, challenge perspectives and celebrate our shared humanity.
Over the last twenty years we’ve welcomed thousands of people into cinemas, cultural venues and community spaces around the world. Many came expecting to watch a film.
What they discovered was something far greater.
One of the very first audience videos we ever received began with these words:
“I came expecting to watch a film… just a film. But what I got was so much more.”
We’ve never forgotten those words.
Because for twenty years, we’ve watched stories do exactly that.
It Starts With “Just…”
It begins as…
Just a film.
Just a documentary.
Just a short film.
Just an evening at the cinema.
Just another festival screening.
Just stories.
Until…
Just Stories…
…that helped us grieve.
…that reminded us we weren’t alone.
…that restored our hope.
…that made us laugh when we needed it most.
…that opened our eyes to another person’s reality.
…that challenged us to see the world differently.
…that gave us the courage to start difficult conversations.
…that inspired forgiveness.
…that strengthened communities.
…that sparked new ideas.
…that encouraged us to take action.
…that became part of our own story.
Because the most powerful films don’t simply entertain us.
They travel home with us.
They shape our conversations.
They influence our decisions.
They stay with us long after the screen fades to black.
Twenty Years. Thousands of Stories. One Community.
This year we’re celebrating twenty years of courageous storytelling.
But this anniversary isn’t really about us.
It’s about every audience member whose life has been touched by a story shared through I Will Tell.
It’s about the conversations you had after the credits rolled.
The friendships you made.
The causes you discovered.
The hope you found.
The person you became.
