My Story

REVD PROFESSOR KEITH MAGEE is a public intellectual, theologian, and social justice scholar. He is Chair and Professor of Practice in Social Justice at Newcastle University and Director of The Social Justice Institute which aims to integrate public policy and public theology to impact the whole of public life. Equally essential, he is a Senior Fellow in Culture and Justice at the University College London Culture and Centre on U.S. Politics. He successfully initiated and led their multi-million dollar capital campaign for the National Public Housing Museum, which is committed to being a living cultural experience of social justice and human rights. He obtained this position after serving as the senior religious affairs advisor on the Obama for America campaign for the National Public Housing Museum. He serves on several boards to include: U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Commission, Mayor of Londonโ€™s Commission on Diversity in the Public Realm, Democrats Abroad U.K. Council, Facing History and Ourselves and Co-Chair of the Endowment Committee, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. His eclectic studies have taken him through the prestigious halls of Ohio University, University of Pennsylvania, Grace International College and Harvard Divinity School. He holds a doctorate of theology in public theology. He writes frequently on race, religion and politics for several outlets, most notably CNN Opinions, and is the author of Prophetic Justice: Race, Religion and Politics, January 2021.
