Sound of Hope

Inspired by an incredible true story, Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot follows Donna and Reverend W.C. Martin, who ignite an extraordinary movement within their small church in rural East Texas. After Donna feels called to open their home to children in the foster care system, the Martins challenge other families in their congregation to do the same.

Together, 22 families adopt 77 children, many considered difficult to place because of their age, circumstances or traumatic experiences. But welcoming the children home is only the beginning. The families must confront the realities of trauma, sacrifice and what it means to love children whose lives have been marked by abandonment and loss.

This is ultimately a story about a community choosing to put its beliefs into action — demonstrating the transformative power of committed, persistent love.
